D-day: The day your loved one came clean or the day you discovered your loved one's addiction and/or betrayal

Ground Zero and Rock Bottom: This sometimes marks the point post D-day that you or your loved one start over from the "lowest" point. It may be the day a love done realizes they have a problem and take responsibility for their choices. It may be the day you realize and decide to take your healing into your own hands (and hopefully turn to the Lord for aid)

The B.A.D.  is an abbreviation I use that stands for the Big Awful Decision. In my case the B.A.D. was my husband's affair. It is the perfect acronym that both describes the event and allows me to journal about it without revealing the truth to the prying eyes of children in our home.

The O.W. is another great acronym that many wives who write about their husband's affair(s). It means Other Woman.

ARP stands for Addiction Recovery Program. A 12 step program in our case. LDS members can find local ARP groups for addicts and spouses by visiting the Church's Addiction Recovery Site

The 12 Step Program can refer to any 12 step program specific for helping addicts or their loved ones on the road of recovery and healing.
